About Us
Global India Foundation (GIF) is a Charitable Organisation registered on 18th April 2005 under Indian Trust Act. This organisation was founded by Shri. P. Ravikumar, well known social activist and former Secretary of Theosophical Society Kerala Chapter.
The present Secretary, Shri. D. Suresh Kumar is an eminent social activist and is Secretary of Pravasi Malayali Welfare Association. He is also the Operating Head of many industrial/commercial establishments in India and abroad. Global India Foundation is working under his profound leadership. GIF strives for the noble cause of empowering common people of this country by enabling them to earn sustainable income through well planned utilisation of their time and ability. At the same time, GIF is committed to the cause of women empowerment as also for helping the helpless and downtrodden citizens of this country.
We adopt schools having lower standard in the areas of forest dwellers, tribal, scheduled castes, etc.., and provide study materials, nutritious food and uniforms to the students. We also provide counselling and language skill training classes to the students of government schools and also conduct awareness campaigns against drug addiction in order to facilitate creation of a socially committed society.
We have two subsidiary institutions under our leadership, namely Vidya Books and Centre for Holistic and Ayurvedic Research & Training (C-HART).
One of the major problems currently being faced by our country is interference of unscrupulous intermediaries in the market, as a result of which prices of essential commodities are shooting up despite of efforts by the government to control price rise. Similarly, various welfare measures initiated by the government are failing to reach at the target population. To effectively address these problems and with a view to promote Digital India Project, we have initiated our Dream Project called ‘We Do India’.
Global India Foundation (GIF) believes that education is both the means as well as the end to a better life: the means because it empowers an individual to earn his/her livelihood and the end because it increases one’s awareness on a range of issues – from healthcare to appropriate social behaviour to understanding one’s rights – and in the process help him/her evolve as a better citizen. Education is the most effective tool which helps children build a strong foundation; enabling them to free themselves from the vicious cycle of ignorance, poverty and disease.
Global India Foundation (GIF) realised that Education for Children cannot be achieved without the family, particularly, unless the mother is assured of health care and empowered. Moreover, when an elder sibling is educated and relevantly skilled to be employable and begins earning, the journey of empowerment continues beyond the present generation.
Global India Foundation (GIF) extended its thematic areas of intervention by supporting family health, livelihood, and women empowerment. Children, their families and the community become the target group for GIF Foundation’s activities as child education cannot be done in isolation and nothing else but education for children can bring long lasting change in the society.

To ensure, social justice, economic, educational and political enhancement to the disadvantaged sections of the society, focusing on women and children, through developing mechanism aiming at service delivery and capacity building.
Objectives of the Group
The objectives of Global India Foundation (GIF), is dedicated to focus on basic education in the belief that education is a critical requisite for socio-economic change. In keeping with this focus, our team members are involved with and support projects that are secular and have an education-related component to them as follows:
- To provide education to underprivileged children in India.
- To encourage the formation of various local groups across India to reach out to larger sections of the population.
- To support and cooperate with persons and groups already engaged in similar activities.
- To raise the required human and other resources to achieve the group objectives.
- To provide opportunities to individuals living outside India who wish to participate in GIF activities in India.
- To address, whenever possible, other issues affecting human life such as health care, environment, socio-economic aspects and women’s issues.
What we Do
Education to the under-previlaged, the poor and the marginalized children in rural areas, tribal villages is a priority concern for GIF. Education gives empowerment in employment areas, commercial activities, health care and in fact Total Quality of Life.
We are also focusing on Women Empowerment Programmes providing adult education and vocational training to women.

Women Empowerment Programme
Though India is developing economically and technologically by leaps and bounds, women here still continue to be discriminated. Jawaharlal Nehru said “You can tell the condition of the nation by looking at the status of women.” According to Mahatma Gandhi, “If you educate a man you educate an individual, but if you educate a woman you educate an entire family.”
Women too should be allowed to study and work and should be made aware of their role in the support and safety of their family. A large section of women in India, both in rural and urban slums need to be educated and empowered.
GIF in its First step is going ahead in educating the women in rural areas, tribal villages, urban slums, particularly parents of the children studying in these areas. The programme is designed to suit the home-makers as it will help them to get acclimatized with their wards education.
PHASE 1:
- Women Education – Reading and writing in mother tongue
- Making them understand on the importance of education and wards performance.
- Soft skills/ mannerism/ nursing/ parenting/ basic etiquettes
- Work from home – To prepare food, chappatis, pickles, dry masala powder, stitching, embroidery, Incense (agarbaties), candle making etc.
- Health awareness and cleanliness drive for a hygienic living.
PHASE 2:
- Financial literacy (bank related and savings).
- Social awareness.
- Computer Skills
GIF plans to take the women empowerment course to various villages and rural areas in Kerala.
Global India Foundation (GIF) as a charitable organisation, proudly inform that we have not availed any external donations or government funding from its inception until today for any of its projects. We have been successfully meeting our expenses so far, from the trust member’s contribution & support as well as the income that we generate from our own small non-profit business activities. Global India Foundation is currently expanding its non-profit business activities widely in order to meet the new requirement and finds its working fund through services being offered by us in the form of insurance agency and other consultancy services. In order to strengthen new initiatives of Global India Foundation and to implement “We Do India” project as detailed above and also to convince the common people about the need to insure their health, homes, establishments, vehicles etc., at the most competitive rates, we are planning wide range of programmes. As is prevalent in other part of world, we aim to make available insurance coverage to all walks of life. For this purpose, we collaborate with many leading Insurance Companies and provide vehicle, health, home insurance etc., at very competitive rates. The income derived from each insurance policy taken by you through Global India Foundation is fully being utilised for charity activities. By this way, you and your family are directly participating in this Noble Cause of charity activities.
